Adult Sunday School

All adults are welcome to join one of our Sunday school classes where we spend time studying the truths and doctrines of the Bible.  Together we seek to better understand what we believe and why we believe it.

College Aged Adults (ACTS Ministry)

 ACTS stands for Adult Christians Teaching Scripture – and that is exactly what we do. This is a small group of young adults committed to grow in the understanding of God’s Word.  A typical meeting consists of studying a selected Book of teh Bible. All participate in the discussion. But, we also rely heavily on the doctrinal insights of great Bible commentaries.

Welcome!  We are a group of women who meet on Tuesday mornings to have coffee, fellowship and Bible study together.  We use a study guide and divide into groups for study time.  Our purpose is to learn more about what the Bible says to us and how we can apply it to our daily living and also to grow in our relationship to Jesus Christ.

Tuesday Evening Adult Bible Study

For all adults interested in growing in God’s Word, come and enjoy an hour of study in I Corinthians led by Rev. Jerry Van Oyen.  We meet in the church sanctuary from 7:00  to  8:00 p.m., followed by a time of coffee and fellowship in the Family Life Center.

Prayer Group

Believing that God moves His timeless agenda through the work of prayer and the preaching of His Word, the group meets weekly to focus on praise, thanksgiving, confession and interceding.  We share needs that have been brought to our attention in order to harmonize our praying in one accord.  We sing to help us express our heart’s desire and we give God the glory. All request are confidential and we find it a humbling thing to bring people to the Lord in prayer.

Wednesday evenings, 7:00; Family Life Center Room 2;  Facilitator: Carol Bandstra

Wednesday Evening Adult Classes

Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons regularly come to our doors. How can we share Christ’s Gospel with them in a meaningful way? Missionary, evangelist, and author Wilbur Lingle is going to lead an exciting 12 week class to help us understand and learn how to reach out in love to these groups. Please join us in Room 3/5 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

Men’s Breakfast Study

Men are invited to gather on Thursday mornings @ 7am for a hearty breakfast and small group discussion in the Family Life Center at the church. The Men’s Group has begun an eight week study using Timothy Keller’s “Gospel in Life:Grace Changes Everything”. Its subject is the gospel and how it is lived out in all of life-first in your heart, then in your community and then out in the world. Timothy Keller is pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan, NY and author of”The Reason For God”, “Counterfeit Gods” and “The Prodigal God” among others. A short DVD presentation is used each week with a scripture passage and group discussion fostered by a study guide. Leader is John Daane and chef is Dick Evanson. Give us a try!

Small Groups

Several small groups are meeting together for the purpose of Bible study, fellowship and getting to know new church members.

Care Groups

Our church places all members in inter-generational groups called “districts.” Each district is under the care of an elder and a deacon. These districts are designed to do the following:

  • Grow community through activities such as sharing meals and praying for one another;
  • Provide smaller groups for our leaders to offer more personal spiritual care;
  • Integrate new people into our church family.

Softball Teams

Each fall, BCRC sponsors a women’s softball team which plays two evenings a week. The season runs from September to mid-November.  The league consists of teams from other area churches and games are played at GT Bray softball fields. Women age 16 to 106 are invited to join this fellowship. No experience is necessary, just a desire to enjoy the company of other women of the congregation and get a little exercise. Contact the church office for more details.
